Is it possible to level ten toons and still raid with your “main”? Well, maybe. If your main is a tank or healer, or all your toons are dps, then probably. If your main is DPS and you are leveling a tank and/or healer, it could get sticky. I’m part of a casual guild (guild plug: Casualty). All my high level characters are in this guild. My main is a hunter, and in BC, I had a Resto Shammy that was raid capable, too. Well, as a casual guild, we get the laid back raiders. In our case, most were DPS. So if we ended up a healer short for Kara or a Heroic, the Shammy was asked to step in. Some people have no problem leveling, and more importantly gearing, multiple toons. Me, I’m not so lucky. With my raiding time limited to maybe 1 night a week, splitting the time between toons wasn’t very productive. Especially on the Rep gaining end. So, what does one do when you have limited raiding time and full complement of characters? Well, if you want to focus on one character, I see a few option.
1. Keep your main in a separate guild to raid. They can’t ask you to bring what they don’t know you have.
2. Don’t max out the other characters. Sorry, can’t bring my healer, he’s only 78.
3. It’s your $15/mo. Level them all and tell people you only raid with the one. Let them deal with it. (Though be prepared for sighs and complaints.)
That’s how I see it. Any other ideas?
